This thread is for when I have power failures, which are going to be quite common for the next month or so, as it has hit monsoon season. When I lose power, the server computer will stay down for a minimum of a day, unless we have more power failures. The clock will re-set each time there is a power failure.
The server is currently down, due to a power glitch, and will not be up again until tomorrow.

Server is down for the day. I am running disk analysis programs on the computer, so I can try to delay the hard drives death. I don't know how long it will take to run it, because I am going to be running multiple scans, and multiple programs. It may be down for as long as a week. Until then, use {SA}2, or play on any other server.

I have the new HD in, thanks to Ghost, but my computer is not recognizing it! GRR!!!
I'm in the process of downloading Linux, so I can try setting it up to run on Linux. It will take several more days before I can have it set up, unfortunately. The plus side is that if I can set it up on linux, I should be able to make like 40 server copies, lol. That should last us a few years!!! Sorry, guys!
I just hope Linux will see the hard drive, otherwise I'm screwed until my dad gets home, to help me figure out why the computer won't see the hard drive. |

Problem half fixed. Dead SATA cable, lol. Plugged in a different one, and VOILA! It works!! One problem.... I don't have a CD-drive now, so I have to figure out how the fuck to install COD4 and Linux or Windows without a CD drive! Linux is easy, idk about windows.

New problem arose. Either CMOS battery is dead, or the motherboard crapped out. I sure as fuck hope that it's the cheaper of the two!!!!

It is the motherboard that is fried. I just checked with a new battery, and reset the BIOS, and it's still not booting up. SON OF A BITCH!!!! I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR THIS SHIT! |

Yeah, I've been having computer issues left and right.
Now I'm having to send my laptop in for warranty work, because one of the mounting brackets popped, causing the bottom cover to separate any time I lift it up. GAH I'M HATING LAPTOPS!
On the bright side, it gets sent straight to MSi, rather than Fry's.
Hopefully I can keep my desktop running long enough to let me use it as the server computer.
I'm hoping to find time this weekend to work on the computer again. I've been busy running around town, and fixing my car (got into an accident recently, and I have to do all the repair work myself).
I'm gonna just have to deal with setting up only 2-3 partitions, unfortunately, which keeps me from having like 10+ copies of COD4 servers on the computer (tons of partitions with COD4 server setups would be equivalent to having 10+ computers, if one of the partitions dies. Just boot under a new partition, and the server is back up, not even 5 minutes after the hard drive was "dead")
